Baby Can... Get it Finished!!!

If you have been  paying attention (there will be a text later...) you may well have realised that the final deadline for delivery of my Baby Can Bounce artwork has come and gone. I'd like to think you are all worrying yourselves sick out there: did she get it done in time??? I'm sure there have been sleepless nights on my behalf, a slight loss of appetite maybe... No? You guys are SUCH a disappointment.

I was motoring towards the finishing line last week, but had to stop half way though the piece I was on - Baby can wave - because the cover go-ahead came through and that needed doing ASAP (of course). I worked on the actual Baby can bounce page at the same time, since the images were so similar:

It was hard knowing what colours to do the trampoline without knowing for sure what colour the cover is going to be. My publisher is keen on lilac, but I think that will clash with the green croc and would much prefer yellow. But Waterstones made us change the yellow I wanted to use on Baby Goes Baaaaa!, so anything could happen (watch this space!).

Anyway, you can rest easy, as (to my own surprise) I did manage to get it all done in time. It was touch-and-go though: I took it right to the wire. It would not have been possible without John's help (though don't tell him I said so).

He bravely did all those tedious and irritatingly time-consuming jobs, like cutting paper, card and overlays and then mounting things up.

Poor old Baby can wave had to wait half-finished until the very end. Ironically, that's kind of fitting isn't it?

Bye bye everybody...

Looking great. I am sure it will all come together brilliantly.
