For anyone who likes to draw and can get to Sheffield this Saturday, January 22nd, this is an open invitation to join in with the 4th of our SketchCrawls, marking the 30th International SketchCrawl Day.
Itinerary for the day:
10am: meet in the foyer of Sheffield Central Library, on Surrey St, at the coffee bar;
10.15 - 12.30: drawing in this listed, Art Deco building, still with its original 1930s fittings (all photos here are of the library). Plus of course, it comes complete with reading rooms full of free 'life models'!
12.30 - 1.45: lunch, with drawing, in the Winter Gardens cafe (we have window tables booked, overlooking Tudor Square);
1.45 - 4.00: drawing in the Cathedral Church of St Marie on Norfolk St (anyone who enjoyed sketching in the Sheffield Cathedral last month will love this);
4.00 - 5.00 (and beyond...): the Crucible Corner bar (again, we have tables booked)
4.00 - 5.00 (and beyond...): the Crucible Corner bar (again, we have tables booked)
The morning session will require us to spread ourselves throughout the various rooms of the library, so that we don't get in the way. We do have permission (no ejections, like last time) but need to be sensitive to libraries users.
As usual, you are welcome to join or leave us at any point, or stop for the whole day. If you wish, you can email me your drawings for our SketchCrawl Gallery. You can also post them on the official SketchCrawling website.
