SketchCrawl no 4: Mark Your Diary!

January 22nd
will be the 30th International SketchCrawl Day. Hurrah!

For those who haven't heard about it, this is a day when people all over the world will be picking up a sketchbooks and getting out and about in their communities with other like-minded folks (both friends and complete strangers) to draw as a group. It's fun, it's free. It's also a great way to meet new people and flex your creativity muscle!

We've done 3 SketchCrawls now in Sheffield, exploring different venues, and each event has been a huge success, attracting 20 - 30 people. We'll be meeting this time in Sheffield Central Library at 10am, if you want to join in.

You don't have to be anyone special to take part or be particularly practised at drawing; you just have to be up for giving it go. If you live in or near Sheffield, feel free to come along with me. If you're further afield, grab a couple of friends and go out where you live.

This green drawing above is by sketchcrawler Abi Goodman: sketching the sketchers! You can see more her drawings and those of other people in the Picture Gallery.

I'll post a full itinerary for Sheffield's SketchCrawl here next week. In the meantime, why not watch my short film about drawing in a sketchbook?

You're a fantastic illustrator! I love your illustrations! I will follow you often on this blog. Also I am a young illustrator. If you'd like to pass on my blog and become friends would make me so much pleasure!

Hi Lynne,
I am a Graphic Design student from sheffield hallam and I just wanted to say thanks for coming in and speaking to us today. You really inspired us to get out and get drawing! So many students were saying enthusiastic things after the lecture so I just wanted to pass on everyone's thanks!
