Any regular readers will know that I am a correspondent for the fabulous, international sketching group Urban Sketchers. If you enjoy sketching and have not yet come across them, you really need to take a look - you'll not regret it!
Anyway, do you remember how I have been lucky enough to get the job of delivering sketching workshops at the 3rd International Urban Sketching Symposium in July? Well, if you are able to get yourself to Santo Domingo from 12 - 14 July, you too could be a part of it, and I'll share with you some of my hot tips for speed-sketching on location.

Over an intense 3 days, there are a whole range of other on-location workshops, delivered by top sketchers from around the world like Tom Thorspecken from the USA, Liz Steel from Australia, Inma Serrano from Spain, Nina Johansson from Sweden, Eduardo Bajzek from Brazil, and many others: if you sign up for the symposium, you get to choose 4 different ones, as well as several lectures in between, and a massive SketchCrawl to finish (yes, it's very full-on). Last year we even sketched through the lectures:
Registration for the event is open until the end of Sunday, June 24, so you still have a couple of weeks to decide to get your sketching gear ready and come join us in the sunny Dominican Republic for an unforgettable experience!
I went last year, to Lisbon, and it was the most extraordinarily inspiring event I can remember being a part of - ever! These are some of the sketches I did there.

You can find all the information on instructors, workshops and how to register on the Symposium site. Even if you can't make it to the symposium, you can still sign up as a member of Urban Sketchers and post your work on the Flickr site.
Hope to see some of you in just over a month!
