Happy New Year!

Well, here we are again. I hope you all had an OK holiday, that Christmas brought you more fun than stress, and that you are now beginning to feel recovered and ready to face the beginning of another year...

I have carried a baby sketchbook in my handbag the whole time, in expectation of snatching a few tell-tale moments, but alas, it never got opened. I did however get a travelling watercolour set and a watercolour moleskin for Christmas, so sometime soon I will be dipping my toe into pastures new. I've never really painted; I have always preferred to draw, so it will be a bit scary. I have borrowed a few 'how to' books off a good friend (thanks Mary!) which are very inspiring and should help to make it less painful.

I don't know if it's the whole 'New Year' thing, but I feel the need for a little of something new, and am rather inspired. I'll let you know how it goes...

Happy 09 ducky.
Look forward to seeing any paintings you do.
Caveat: I find the watercolour paper used in Moleskines to be of inferior quality. But that's just my opinion. I tend to use either Fabriano or Arches paper of various types.
tata for now

Good tip - I'll experiment. Do they come in bound sketchbooks by any chance?

fabriano does come in bound. not sure about arches. just bought a humassive roll of fabriano incase i do anymore watercolour for the next book, but as the roll's 2 metres high, I'm currently more likely to play Star Wars light sabres with it. If you come to the SCBWI * nudge nudge* (you see how this goes...)I'll bring you some samples! x
