
It's the presents I fret about most. Each year I seem to spend most my time trying not to just buy things for myself instead.
The sociable bit of the holiday is what it's all about for me: the excuse to meet up with family & friends, or to recontact friends you've let slip, or to get the ball rolling with new friendships you'd like to develop.

By the way, if anyone is looking for a less commercial present alternative, I just came across a new charitable gift idea, a bit like the wonderful Oxfam Unwrapped scheme: you can 'give the gift of reading' this Christmas, through the National Literacy Trust. You donate £25 to provide 'books and reading inspiration for a disadvantaged child for a year'. Sounds good to me.

Great post and incredible video.
After all I was right, it is a expensive restaurants for goats, instead climbing trees to make shadows to others...Very instructive.
