Back From the CWIG Conference

I have just got back from a fantastic weekend in Cambridge (lovely in itself of course), but this was even better, as this was the long awaited weekend of the CWIG conference. For those who don't know, CWIG stands for Children's Writers and Illustrators Group, which is a wing of The Society of Authors. The weekend was not just for those already in the industry, but open to anybody interested in working as a children's author or illustrator, and I can't recommend it too highly. You get to meet so many interesting (and often rather famous) writers and illustrators, and hear them talk about their work and the latest issues in the world of children's books. And whenever you're not doing all that fascinating stuff, you are being fed vast quantities of the most gorgeous food (oh, all those puddings to choose from...).

I will tell you more about it all later, but for now I really do have to get on with some work, finishing off those Dragon's Dinner endpapers and getting the scans ready for proofing in time for Frankfurt (see Tracing Up The Cover of Dragon's Dinner). I should have plenty of time, but I'll feel more comfortable once it's done.

Speak to you again soon!

There's such a lot to tell, that I thought I might do it a bit at a time.

I will try and post something up later on this evening.
